Catching Up!

With the 2010 wedding season winding down, I'm just finally catching my breath and WOW, what a fantastic season it has been! OMG I feel so lame though, I am so "2000 and LATE" with my blog! With the business booming it has been hard to keep up with it all, but I am now dedicating some time to blogging on a consistent basis! So, I want to take a minute to catch up with all of you :)

First and foremost I would like to give a very *special* shoutout to ALL of my amazing couples this season-

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day and celebrate with you. It has truly been my pleasure to work with each and everyone one of you and document such a momentous day in your life, your weddings have been unforgettable, fun and beautiful. It is you who make my job so special and my work a joy. And not to worry- your images will be featured on the blog and site galleries in weeks to come -so keep a look out! (There are too many fantastic images not to share!) And to my couples from 2009, I haven't forgotten about you, look out for your photos as well!

With the business experiencing such great success I am THRILLED to announce the expansion of Carrie Rodman Wedding Photography, with the launch of a new and improved site in about two weeks, talented additions to the team, and more! Coming in 2011, Sara Ossana will be joining Carrie Rodman Wedding Photography as second principle photographer, check out her furniture line O&G Studio featured in this month's issue of Martha Stewart Living. To see the actual spread, Click here. Sara will be joined by Videographer, Matt Provost and Sesha Loop, photo editor and "retoucher extraordinaire." Their inclusion will now allow us to provide everything "in house," meeting your needs on both the photography and videography fronts- "one stop shopping," if you will. After such a slammed summer the extra help will make it easier to juggle it all, (for instance keeping up with my blogging,) and will make us even bigger, better and faster-like the bionic woman, haha! I am so excited about working with you guys! With Sara's help I will also be delving into the textiles/ home decor business with a line featuring some of my fine artwork, something I've always wanted to break into.

In other news I was so honored to be voted Best Wedding Photographer 2010 by Newport Life Magazine's Best Of Awards! To see the full listing of this year's winners, Click here. I had a great time wining and dining at the Best of Soiree! So many good things, I am so grateful.

And we'll be at the 2011 Newport Bridal Show, after such a successful showing last year, so come see us at Rosecliff on Saturday February 19th, 2011! Keep checking the web for exciting updates.

On the personal front, Ava and I are preparing for a much-needed trip to Australia in a few weeks time to see Aaron! (I was sure to set a few weeks aside for this.) We miss him and it will be so nice to spend some family time together :)

Jenessa & Rick's Surprise Proposal NYC!!!

Last weekend I drove down to NYC to photograph a surprise proposal. My good friend Raina was helping her brother stage the event. The added surprise for both of them, was that the whole thing was being photographed by yours truly:)

The setup: Raina was to bring Rick's bulldog "Tony Stewart" to Central Park. Rick had a shirt made saying, "Will You Marry My Daddy". How insanely cute is that? She tied Tony up by Bethesda Fountain. Then both Raina and myself were hiding in the wings waiting for Rick to walk by with Jenessa. Where they were to casually come across Tony waiting patiently.

I think Raina and myself were just as nervous trying to pull this off without a hitch!!!

I felt like I was commando jumping out of the bushes as the proposal went down. The excited crowds gathered as people realized what was happening. I had to maneuver around

them to get the shot.

I am happy to report it was a huge SUCCESS!!!! Tony delivered the message on his back. Jenessa was floored as Rick slid the ring on her finger. Raina came running down the steps to congratulate the happy couple and breathe a sigh of relief. Plus introduce me as not some crazy tourist photographing them:)

I just wanted to say Congratulations to Rick and Jenessa!! What an incredible way to begin your lives together. Rick, well done!!! You went BIG:) It was inspiring and thrilling to be included in your "conspiracy". Thanks to Raina for bringing me in on the fun. Tony you were the ultimate "wing man". That FACE!!! I will let the photos tell the rest..........

Newport Life Magazine Bridal Show

Thanks to all the brides and grooms who stopped by my table, at the Newport Life Magazine's Bridal Show, located in Rosecliff Mansion. The show was huge success for me. I am busy following up requests and booking appointments. I want to send a huge thank you to Annabelle Harris, who was my partner in crime for the day. She helped me wrangle the masses, I couldn't have done it without her. Annabelle, you rock!!

Also another big thank you to Amanda Appelbaum, for being such an incredible cover girl:)

So it looks like 2010 wedding season will be a busy one. Plus 2011 is already starting to ramp up. I look forward to seeing what wonderful moments the upcoming season has in store for all of us.

The Launch of My Wedding Blog!!!!

I am so excited about the launch of my blog! So I thought it was
appropriate to mention in my first posting, some great news. The cover of
Newport Life Wedding Magazine, which just hit the stands, is my
photograph! The shot features an amazing couple, Bryce & Amanda
Appelbaum.Shot on location at Belle Mer, here in Newport,
R.I. All I can say about the day, it was a photographer's dream
come true.The people, venue, decor, flowers, lighting, every last
detail was gorgeous.There was a fabulous shot at every turn:) I have to make special mention of the
dress. Amanda's dress was exquisite. It was flawless from
every angle. Amy Michelson is the dress designer, to answer your next question:)

But most importantly, what made this shot work was Amanda & Bryce, just being themselves. Their implicit trust in my abilities to
capture their wedding, was evident in every frame I shot. Their love and devotion to each other was so apparent, I just documented what was right in
front of my lens. It made it easy for me to blend into the atmosphere of
their wedding. It was truly a magical day on all fronts. The best
part, I made new friends.

P.S. I wanted to give a big shout out to Bryce and all of
his groomsmen. You and your gang were so much fun to photograph. I
appreciated all of your high spirited energy. It was hilarious.
